Open Systems are increasingly shaping the fase of the Computing and Information handling industry. But keeping pace with Open Systems is by no means easy. It is a world of rapid evolution, where yesterday's working procedures are quickly superseded by todays innovations in software and applications.
Remaining abreast of these developments is an absolute must for commercial and non profit organisations alike. It is the only way to ensure that today's investments in hardware, software and working procedures are not tomorrow's wasted write-offs-that opportunities presented are not opportunities missed.
By joining one of the Affiliated National Groups of EurOpen, Companies, Institutions and Individuals can keep up to date, on line, and in touch with the latest advances in Open Systems.
EurOpen's Affiliated Groups are autonomous. Each functions actively in its own country enabling it to organise informative meetings, workshops, technical conferences, software distibution, newsletters and proceedings in the national language, while concentrating on the services and setting the subscription levels best suited to its regional membership. This gives members the benefits of a local Group while at the same time, through the Group's affiliation to EurOpen, openig the windows to all the benefits and concessions of a Europe wide Federation.
Membership puts YOU and YOUR COMPANY in touch with other users of Open Systems across Europe (and beyond, through EurOpen's special liaisons with Groups in non European countries), providing a unique environment in which to share information and experiences.
EurOpen gives you a say. Because the combined membership of the National Groups with EurOpen totals over 8,000, EurOpen can speak with a strong voice on behalf of Users. It can communicate with Gouvernments, Major Manufacturers and the EEC. It collaborates with influential organisations in formulating and approving standards affecting Open Systems, such as IEEE, POSIX, X/Open, UI/USL and OSF.
As the major shareholder in EUnet with Board level representation, EurOpen will also represent your interests in the Network and ensure that information services, including EUnet Mail, EUnet News, EUnet Archive and Inter EUnet are made available to you.
Conferences & Workshops are organised by EurOpen and the National Groups on a regular basis. A service for discounted publications is also available to members.
